SILVERLAKE, CA – A man by the name of Alex Clapper has written an awe-inspiring post on his Facebook wall about how people are addicted to the internet and need to focus on the important things in life. Here is an excerpt of his magnum opus:

People, think about what’s important. It’s time to wake up and live life. Toss your phone in the garbage. Give your laptop to the nearest homeless man. WAKE UP. The digital age is making us all zombies. Phones are useless, computers are useless, the only thing that’s not useless? Love. Love everyone and everything. Toss out anything that distracts you from that. Your car, your TV. GET OUT THERE AND LIVE!

Of course, as with all things, this post is not free of critics. One commenter writes:

Oh, yeah, let me just throw out my glowing rectangle that will let me talk to ANYONE IN THE WORLD! Lets get rid of newspapers too, since they are a distraction too! Let’s all go sing kumbaya in the woods and hold hands and hug trees! Get with the times, you Neanderthal.

As of writing this, Clapper has convinced 1 person to log off Facebook for about 20 minutes. It really goes to show what a few positive words can do.
